Description:

This international version of the series originally created by @midwestkiwi has been started to accommodate international swappers who may or may not be affected by tariff and customs uncertainties.

At the moment international postal services in nearly 30 countries have suspended some or all services to the US. Services in 22 European countries – including the UK, France, Germany and Italy – have suspended some or all deliveries and PostEurop has been said its members, including a further 32 postal services, could be forced to restrict shipping.

In Asia and the Pacific, services in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, India, South Korea, Taiwan & Singapore have suspended some or all deliveries.

That's why this particular swap is INTERNATIONAL but NON-USA, so that those of us who live outside US can continue attending these swaps without having to worry about the current situation regarding international mail to the US. @midwestkiwi is still hosting the original swaps but at the moment they're US only.

This is a series of mini zine swaps, one for each calendar month, requiring that you make a new mini zine specifically for the swap. There will be a swap posted for each month of the year. You can participate in as many or few as you wish. For this calendar month series, your mini zine should be representative of that month in your life. It is sender's choice, so you can start and complete your mini zine anytime that month, but it should be a zine created specifically for this swap. (The original is yours. You can distribute as many copies as you wish elsewhere after completing the swap, but it cannot have been previously distributed.)

For September 2025:

Create a mini zine that reflects what is happening in your life this September. It might be one event, or multiple moments, or a collection of poems, or a random collage of ephemera, or a six page mish mash of experiments…

Some mini zine explanations, demonstrations and how to can be found on YouTube and other internets - just type in "how to fold a mini zine" or "how to create a mini zine" and you'll be provided with plenty of instructions to choose from! Fold the mini-zine from A4 or 8.5x11" paper. Whichever is commonly available where you are.

This series is open to newbies. Hi and welcome :) You will need a profile that indicates an interest in or experience with the craft at hand, that demonstrates an understanding of the rating process.

However, this is a public series and so… A little housekeeping: If you have recent blips in your ratings, unresolved ones, a recent lengthy absence from swap-bot or have ever flaked on a swap YOU must message ME to explain. I am not going to ask. My reason for banning will be “You did not demonstrate an understanding of the swap expectations.” Likewise, if you flake, do not communicate, do not rate or rate unfairly, or in any other way cause me to wonder why I host: I will not forget. PLAY NICE. Please sign onto swap-bot at least two days before the sign up deadline so I know you're still serious about your participation. (or just let me know)

I know hosts cannot indicate/require a heart rating but honestly if a swap that meets requirements is received with a note in a pretty envelope isn’t heart worthy, I don’t know what would make a partner happy. So…be kind and constructive and generous.

I will angel if necessary.

Have fun & happy swapping! :) Message me or @midwestkiwi if you have any questions!
